When To Call

Horse's Mouth

If you observe any of the following symptoms in your horse, you should schedule an equine dental appointment to check your horse’s teeth and determine if their condition is causing discomfort and other symptoms.

  • Whole grains of feed in manure
  • A discharge from the nasal cavity
  • A foul odor from the mouth
  • Altered chewing
  • Loss of condition
  • Sores in the mouth, on the tongue or cheeks
  • Excessive salivation
  • Quidding of hay and/or grass
  • Head shaking or tossing
  • Rearing or bucking
  • Pulling when riding
  • One sided in the bridle
  • Bit avoidance
  • Blood in mouth
